Opening Febuary 2026 at Kedleston Hall
Encounters’, follows the stories of three selected objects from Kedleston Hall’s Museum collection. Explored from the perspective of invited members of the Tibetan Community in Britain ‘encountering’ these objects, the film navigates the artefacts’ providence and cultural and spiritual significance with the entangled stories of Tibetans in Britain today.
Surfacing memories associated with these objects, the film traces the journey of displacement of both these objects and this diasporic community, unpicking the relationship between Britain’s Imperial history in India and historic intervention in Tibet.
